AQR's Young Disruptors

AQR's Young Disruptors - The Return of Whose Sign Is It Anyway!

Where: Star of Kings, 126 York Way, London, N1 0AX
When: From 6:30pm, Tuesday 18th June 2019
Price: £10 donation at the door (which will go towards a couple of surprises on the night!)

We’ve heard your cries for the return of our popular event Whose Sign Is It Anyway and are pleased to announce that this month the Young Disruptors are back with renowned semiotician Rachel Lawes to talk about semiotics in the alcohol category.

As one of the original founders of British commercial semiotics, Rachel will take us on a tour of the various signs and symbols in the category and give you the opportunity to get involved with some practical elements.

For those who don’t know, the AQR’s Young Disruptors is a safe space for all young researchers, (under 7 years’ experience - so youngish!) to play/learn/grow in the company of other like-minded peers.

KINDLY SPONSORED BY MCGOWAN TRANSCRIPTIONS https://www.mcgowantranscriptions.co.uk

We guarantee:

  • Some free booze/snacks
  • An evening of fascinating insight into the world of semiotics in the alcohol category
  • The opportunity to get ‘hands on’ with semiotics and workshop what a certain gin brand communicates!
  • You will meet some lovely young researchers…
  • You will not be forced to talk shop
  • There will be no moderation
  • You will be without your boss (probably!)

Special thanks to: Rachel Lawes (http://www.lawes-consulting.co.uk)

How to RSVP: Space is very limited at this event, so if you want to come along please do RSVP your name ASAP to info@aqr.org.uk

What are the Young Disruptors? We are a sub-committee of the AQR which was set up 4 years ago. Our aim is to get young researchers socialising through events and workshops which are specifically organised for them.
