AQR Spark brings you... Secrets of Innovation & Brand Building.

This session will explore the challenges of building and maintaining successful brands through innovation — as well as what it takes to create an entirely new brand!

Tuesday 9th May, 7.15pm — 8.45pm

The session will be led by Andy Stubbings and Emma Town from Diageo, a global leader in the alcoholic drinks market, with many iconic brands.

During the session, Andy and Emma will share their experiences (and the challenges they’ve faced) launching innovations for successful brands such as Captain Morgan and Smirnoff — as well as creating Roe and Co, a new premium Irish whiskey brand.

Andy is a Senior Planner in the Diageo Europe Innovation team, where he has helped develop Roe and Co, Smirnoff Cider and Whiskey Union, amongst others. Before that he worked at Bacardi on their gin portfolio and innovation team. Andy previously worked agency side at The Futures Company, Ogilvy and Added Value and was a WPP Fellow. He loves ideas, innovation, and understanding the idiosyncrasies of human behaviour.

Emma is Head of Planning in the Diageo Europe Innovation team and in her 3 years in this role has been focused on grounding the company’s pipeline in genuine consumer opportunity, as well as personally working on the development of Pimm’s Cider and Captain Morgan Mutineer. She has also championed stopping a fair few other projects along the way! Prior to her time in innovation she was the Western Europe Senior Planner for White Spirits, and before that she was indulging her passion for all things chocolate-related working on the UK portfolio for Mars. She is passionate about ensuring businesses ‘do the right thing’ for both consumers and themselves and loves cajoling them into doing so!
