Chunking

Large, distant goals can seem daunting and impossible, but through the creation of sub-goals — or ‘chunks’ — we are more likely to succeed in achieving a goal. We do better if we receive feedback on our progress as we achieve each sub-goal.

Learning how to chunk effectively can increase productivity and motivation, and lessen the stress of bigger tasks. For example, website “progress tracker” bars make online processes, like signing up for car insurance, feel more doable.
