Recruitment

The process by which respondents or participants are screened and selected against certain criteria, then persuaded to take part in qualitative market research. In the UK, this is generally carried out by specialist freelance recruiters or recruitment agencies, while in the US it is generally carried out by viewing facilities. In both cases, professional recruitment forms part of the developed infrastructure that supports the practice of qualitative research as a commercial enterprise.
