Rupert Murdoch Professor of Language
Deborah is a sociolinguist who has spent 25 years researching and writing about language and gender. Her most recent book on the subject, written for a general audience, is The Myth of Mars and Venus (Oxford University Press, 2007). She has held academic positions in the UK, US and Sweden, and is currently the Rupert Murdoch Professor of Language and Communication at Oxford University.
